CNC Routing at Shannon Group

Shannon Group CNC Routing Services

CNC Router (Or Computer Numerical Control router) is a computer-controlled cutting machine related to the hand held router used for cutting various hard materials. At Shannon Group we have a 3m x 2m CNC router that is capable of cutting material up to 50mm thick. It is designed to handle everything from large scale industrial quantities to small one off jobs.

A CNC router produces consistent and high-quality work and improves productivity. Unlike a jig router, the CNC router can produce a one-off as effectively as repeated identical production. Automation and precision are the key benefits of our cnc router.

A CNC router can reduce waste, frequency of errors, and the time the finished product takes to get to market. We cut a wide range of materials including Plywood, MDF, Hardwood, Lightweight Ply, Acrylic, polycarbonate, ACM aluminium composite, Foam Board, Corian, Correx, SignBlock and much more. We have close ties with all our suppliers who deliver straight to our door, meaning we can offer you the best prices. We even offer a competitively priced delivery services to our account customers in Plymouth and the surrounding area.

Bespoke to you

This notice board was designed and built from scratch by our skilled in house team. Made from oak faced MDF, it is sturdy and will last for a long time. It was built to meet specifications given to us by the customer, as they couldn’t find what exactly what they wanted anywhere else.

If you have a project large or small, that you can’t buy ‘off the shelf’, then give us a call and let us do the hard work for you.

From Sketch to Final Product

Here at Shannon Group we understand that not everyone has access to CAD software to provide us with the correct files that our computer needs to send to the CNC router. We are able to take your hand drawn sketches and, as long as you provide the measurements, we can turn that into a CAD drawing that we can cut from. As illustrated in the image to the right:

(Clockwise from top left) Hand drawn sketch: The customer provided us with this drawing.

The CAD File: This is what the component pieces look like once we have converted them into computer files.
